Contemplative Outreach, a global movement begun by Abbot Thomas Keating, invites persons to commit "to living the contemplative dimension of the Gospel in everyday life. That Gospel dimension manifests itself in an ever-deepening union with the living Christ and the practical caring for others that flows from that relationship."

We pray that our 2019 Assembly in St. Louis will help us grow in that dimension of life in Christ.

AUSCP Executive Director

"The Francis Impact"

On May 5, 2019, Salt and Light Television in Canada will premiere its latest documentary, "The Francis Impact," the sequel to the acclaimed 2014 film, "The Francis Effect." The new film explores how Pope Francis’ vision for the Catholic Church—rooted in ecology, welcoming refugees, inter-faith dialogue and pastoral reform—has taken root across the globe and is impacting the lives of ordinary people and communities. The film includes an exclusive message from Pope Francis himself, in which he calls on viewers to shift their focus to the peripheries, and become protagonists in building a more just and peaceful world.

To find out how to view this film online, click on this link:

Those who attend the 2019 AUSCP Assembly will have an opportunity to view this film at the Assembly.

New Book by AUSCP Member

AUSCP member Bill Kremmel has written a book entitled It's All About God's Love: A retired Pastor Reflects on the Sacrament of Reconciliation. The book is intended to help Catholics find a healthy sense of sin, a new appreciation of the God who is love, and a better understanding of the Sacrament as a sign of God's merciful presence and life-giving power in our lives. Bill suggests that the Church needs to place a new focus on the God who loves, heals, and forgives us, and less focus on the sinner, sin, guilt, and condemnation, which sadly has been a major focus in the past. More information about the book can be found on Amazon or Barnes & Noble.

 Annual Appeal Exceeds Goals

A generous donor matched all donations from mid-March through April. Donations equalled $4,700, so the AUSCP gained $9,400 during those six weeks. Thank you to all who participated!

The Annual Appeal went over the top with 357 donors gifting the AUSCP with a total of $127,425.00. This will enable more outreach during the coming year, promoting the values of Vatican II and attracting new members.

Thank you to all who responded so generously!
